For Retro Hardware hacking goto: http://www.backofficeshow.com/boobie-basix/retro-boobie
The Boobie Basix or 'Boobie Board' is a groovy and incredibly easy to use microcontroller digital IO interface that provides the home hobbiest or engineer with a platform they can rapid prototype and integrate with their projects.
We like to keep it simeple at the Backoffice, so one of the main features is that the IO of the device is very easy to understand and comes pre-programmed with a human readable interface on the firmware that guides you through the process of talking to your electronic gadgets. We are so confident that we do not ship a manual with the board as folk just pick it up and start running right away!
The board is based on a Microship PIC16F688 and an FTDI-232R which provides serial port emulation over USB (It is how your PC or Raspberry Pi talks to the board). The board provides a number of features including optional power regulation, a 40Mhz oscillator for increased throughput and a number of configurable ports and onboard peripherals.
The Boobies are packed and ready to ship on the Beta programme. If you have not signed up, please go to http://backofficeshow.com/beta to enter your details for the chance to get some free hardware!
