The Boobie Basix is a single board micocontroller and GPIO unit. It comprises of a PIC 16F688 Microcontroller, FTDI232R USB to serial chip, onboard voltage regulation, optional 40Mhz crystal (for your own projects and firmware) and all accessible by the 18 pin edge connector (which also provides dual VIN, 5V regulated and Ground lines).

The pin pitch makes it perfect to interface to your own breadboard, veroboard or direct solder projects and as every pin of the microcontroller is accessible you have 100% flexibility! 

The Boobie Basic comes supplied with a standard and configurable GPIO firmware that will allow you to start controlling, sensing and automating right away, the interface is even human readable by any terminal program (e.g. RealTerm) so you can understand the protocol in minutes. 

Created to enable rapid prototyping and assembly whilst retaining low-level micro-controller performance, the Boobie Board is an invaluable tool for every electronics lab.

Designed from the ground up to enable adding automation and intelligence to virtual any electronic design the Boobie Board found many alternative uses. One is as an extremely powerful lab and hobbyist tool. From simple data logging, through to stepper control, IO interfaces, automation, user input the Boobie Board is the ideal platform to learn the fundamentals of electronic product design.

Comes with a pre-programmed firmware providing USB Serial control over the IO lines for multiple use cases.

Can be tailored to any requirement using an inexpensive pic programmer (e.g. PicKit 3). This truly unleashes its full potential!
